Midwest NXT started with our riders. Their passion to keep progressing after high school and stay connected to this community inspired us to build something more. This new team is a tribute to their drive, dedication, and love for Devo—and their desire to keep growing, together.

Meet the Riders

  • Calvin Conaway

    Calvin Conaway has been racing cyclocross for 11 years and will compete in the U23 Men’s category this season.


    “My favorite race was 2024 Loenhout because it was my only race with Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert.”

    Favorite Svenness episode: 2.16

    Calvin’s goal for the 2025–2026 season is to be selected for the Cyclocross World Championships in Hulst, Netherlands.

  • Ethan Brown

    Ethan Brown has been racing cyclocross for 6 years and will compete in the UCI Junior Men’s category this season.


    “My favorite race was Hulst 2024 because it was my first European race.”

    Favorite off-the-bike activity: driving go-karts.

    Ethan’s goal for the upcoming season is to finish in the top 15 at Cyclocross Worlds.

  • Ava Shipman

    Ava Shipman has been racing cyclocross for 9 years and will compete in the UCI Junior Women’s category this season.


    “My favorite race was 2024 Loenhout because of the rainy conditions.”

    Favorite course feature: logs and technical corners.

    Ava’s goal for this year is to race at the Cyclocross World Championships in Hulst, Netherlands.

  • Jack Helvie

    Jack Helvie has been racing cyclocross for 9 years and will compete in the UCI Junior Men’s category this season.


    “My favorite race was the 2024 Cyclocross Nationals because the conditions were perfect.”

    Favorite snack: Meijer peanut butter trail mix.

    Jack’s goal for the 2025 season is to be selected for a Cyclocross World Cup.
